The Vintage Road Racer

Retro Bike
Retro Bike

How annoying is that? Going to work by bike and back home,
by bus.
Lately my city commuter was stolen just in front of my working place.

Anyway one thing was for sure, I need a new bicycle.
My coworker offered me his old Boschetti road bike, from the 80's,
which immediately turned into my new project.....:
"The Vintage Racer"

I started to disassemble the entire bicycle, checked all the parts
and decided which I keep using. As well I wanted a new paint.
The frame had to be prepared with sanding and cleaning.

My workshop/cellar now also turned into a small (very)
spray booth.
I chose a metallic silver for the frame.

With the newly ordered parts arriving, the reassembling was
about to begin. The idea was to combine the silver frame with
brown leather that gives the racer a vintage look.

As you can see in the picture above,
I replaced the drop bar with a flat bar.
I like the look of a fixie or single speed,
in this case the difference is that i kept all
the gears. As well I preferred to keep the
entire Shimano 600 system inclusive the
bar end shifters which were transferred to
the flat bar and now required adapters
to get them work.

It finally looks fine for me and a stolen bike turned into
an opportunity.

Vintage Pioneer Amplifier Obsession

Since I got my first Pioneer Amplifier, I'm obsessed
with the design and impressed with the quality.
Let's start with the "smallest one, this was my first.

After getting infected by the "vintage Pioneer flu"
I looked for something more slim to connect my TV.
I thought, this might be a good solution.

Urban Bicycle

Retro Bike
Retro Bike

My wife loves old bicycles same as I do. So we started to look
and tried to find a used vintage bike to pimp.
A friend finally found his sister's bike, from the early seventies,
in his dad's shed.

I decided to disassemble every single part and rebuild it with
a totally new urban style look. Since it was the wish of my wife,
I used a matt baby blue for the frame and the mud guards.

Most of the parts were replaced with nicer
and more functional accessories. At least
my love was delighted when she saw it
and I think it is a cool
urban cruiser

The Lucky Found Rollei 35 S

The Lucky Found

This blog is about a passion for old and vintage gadgets and devices.
It's not about brands, it's more about the beautyof the item itself.
That is why i'd like to place here some lucky founds of mine and prefer
to show these, sometimes rare beauties, in pictures.

My first piece i'd like to present is as well my latest. I'm talking about
a Rollei 35 S mechanical Photo camera from the late 60ies.

With this cam i was super lucky, found it in a second hand store

for only 10 Swiss Francs. Only works, of course if  they dont know
what they're actually selling....lol.

The amazing thing is that this cam has about the size of a pack of
cigarettes.....not bad for a fully mechanical camera.

I don't want to talk much about the features, just enjoy looking at it.
